I started playing bass in high school jazz band. My buddy brought a guitar to school one day and said "every guitar player needs a bassist". My journey started that day. we went on to compete at state level and win, every person in the rhythm section went on to play in different bands across the midwest. I love woodworking and decided to build my first bass in 2011. It was sort of a Frankenstein store bought neck, jazz pickups, and a slab of padauk. Today, I prefer natural finishes, dual color tones with accents and unique features of different species of wood. I appreciate the work of other builders out there, and rely on the input of the community and musicians to dial in the details of these instruments.
